If you want a surprisingly easy and delicious sweet treat, chaffles are my latest discovery.
This particular recipe calls for chocolate chips but you can make savory chaffles by eliminating the sugar and sweets and by adding savory flavors instead. I tend to use cream cheese for sweet chaffles and mozzarella cheese for savory but both will work for either.
Savory chaffles are perfect for making keto-friendly sandwiches and we will be adding more chaffle recipes with different flavors.
I experimented with cocoa powder instead of the chocolate chips but there’s really no comparison. You get a rich chocolate flavor when using the chocolate chips versus using just cocoa powder. You can top with sugar-free cream cheese icing or whipped cream. Strawberries are keto-friendly as well and make an excellent topping over these chocolate chip chaffles.
