These are a little spicier than traditional meatballs to give it that extra kick.
If you aren’t into spicy foods, just leave out the hot sauce, chili flakes and chili pepper. You can add some Parmesan or mozzarella cheese to them for even more deliciousness.
You can serve these over zucchini noodles or spaghetti squash for a delicious lunch or dinner. Or they are delicious all by themselves.
KETO SPICY MEATBALLS

Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground pork, or mixed beef and pork
- 1 regular egg, beaten
- 4 garlic cloves, diced
- 2 tbsp. basil, diced
- 2 tsp. hot sauce
- 1 tsp. chili flakes
- Black pepper and salt to taste
- 1/4 cup olive oil for cooking
- Sauce:
- 2 tbsp. olive oil
- 1/4 onion, diced
- 4 oz. tomato sauce
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 1 chili pepper, diced
- 1 cup of basil leaves
- Black pepper and salt to taste
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine meat, egg, garlic, 2 tablespoons of basil, hot sauce, chili flakes, salt and pepper for the meatballs and form 12 meatballs.
- Fry the meatballs in ¼ cup of olive oil over medium heat and cook until done, approximately 10 minutes.
- While meatballs are frying, in a medium saucepan, mix 2 tablespoons olive oil, onion, tomato sauce, diced bell pepper, diced chili pepper and salt and pepper to taste.
- Simmer sauce for 10 minutes.
- Add in meatballs and simmer for 5 more minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in the basil leaves.
