This is an easy recipe that tastes so much better than jarred or canned sauce and you don’t have to worry about all the additives and chemicals.
I experimented with this recipe a few times until I got it right. As with all recipes, it’s best to experiment with the spices to find what amount you like. These measurements are just a starting point. You can also add green peppers to your sauce or any other vegetable you like. Ground sausage or turkey can be substituted for the meat or you can completely eliminate the meat.
KETO MARINARA MEAT SAUCE
Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 32 oz. crushed tomatoes
- 6 oz. tomato paste
- 8 oz. sliced mushrooms
- 1 tbsp. garlic powder
- 1 tbsp. onion powder
- 2 tbsp. Italian seasoning
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups water
- 1 tsp. erythritol
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef.
- While the ground beef is cooking, add all of the other ingredients in a pot and combine.
- Add cooked ground beef.
- Place on low heat to simmer gently for about 2 hours or to the desired thickness.
